Amanda Apolonio

Amanda Apolonio is a research associate at E11 Bio, developing tissue preparation and imaging protocols for scalable brain circuit mapping. She recently completed her role as Research Associate II at UCSF/Gladstone's Yang Lab, where she led proteomics research identifying plasma proteins that cross the blood-brain barrier and pioneered protocols for single-nuclei RNA sequencing of human aneurysm tissue. Prior to UCSF, Amanda earned her BA in Molecular Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and co-founded Starting Point STEM, providing free tutoring to underserved students during the pandemic.

Outside of the lab, Amanda enjoys gardening, cooking, and searching for the best local markets wherever she travels. She's convinced that Sunday mornings were invented specifically for bossa nova and really good coffee.
