John Haug
John is E11 Bio’s light-sheet microscopy scientist. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame under Anthony Hoffman on the use of metasurfaces for the super-resolution imaging technique structured illumination microscopy (SIM). As a postdoc at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Kevin Dean’s lab, he spearheaded Altair-LSFM (Haug, et al, eLife 2026) – a project focused on the design and development of advanced light-sheet microscope systems for dissemination purposes.
Outside of the lab, John keeps busy through photography, walking his corgi Jasper, and a macaron baking passion project.
