John Haug
John is E11 Bio’s microscopy scientist. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame under Anthony Hoffman on the use of metasurfaces for the super-resolution imaging technique structured illumination microscopy (SIM). As a postdoc at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Kevin Dean’s lab, he spearheaded Altair-LSFM (Haug, et al, eLife 2026) – a project focused on the design and development of advanced microscope systems for dissemination purposes.
Outside of the lab, John keeps busy through photography, walking his corgi Jasper, and a macaron baking passion project.
